Acknowledging President's Day

Perhaps signifying that Winter is coming to a close, President's Day weekend has turned into a shopping weekend comparable to the "Black Friday" of November. Holiday spending is nearly paid off, and tax refunds are starting to reach bank accounts. Stores are advertising incredible specials on their products, and everyone is out looking for the best deals available so they can purchase what they've been wanting but holding off on.

Before we jump into the Weekend Special program we are having for new vehicles, we would like to take a moment to acknowledge the history behind President's Day, and point out a couple of presidential places to visit in the Boston area to commemorate this country's historical figures. Originally there was one Federal Holiday in February to honor our 1st President, George Washington, who's birthday was observed on February 22nd. When celebration for President Lincoln's birthday began on February 12th, there were then two public holidays in close proximity to each other. By 1971 the two separate holidays were merged into one on the 3rd Monday of February, which later adopted the name President's Day.

A visit to the JFK Presidential Library and Museum is a very appropriate President's Day Activity in Boston, MA. Located on Columbia Point in Boston the Museum is open 7 days a week. Hours are from 9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults, $8 for Seniors and college students, $7 for children 13-17 and children 12 and under are admitted free. You may want to go to Charlestown next to visit the Bunker Hill Monument. Located at Monument Square, this memorial is also open daily from 9am to 4:30pm and admission is free. Be prepared with water on hand, because the climb to the pinnacle is an incredible 294 circular steps!

Now before heading out to these great places, you may want to test drive a new Range Rover or Land Rover to see how they can take you places, in comfort and in class. As an added incentive to our already excellent offers, purchase your new Range Rover or Land Rover through our Centre by Monday the 21st at 7pm, and we will include a FREE ResistAll Package to keep your new purchase in Presidential condition! This is a $595 service which will protect your vehicle from stains, scratches, spills and other inconveniences!
